Overview

Charles represents clients in a broad range of domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial and venture financing, formation and governance of business entities, securities offerings, joint ventures, product sales and distribution, project finance and development, and regulatory compliance matters.

Prior to joining Egerton McAfee, Charles served as general counsel of a healthcare and medical device company.  In this role he was involved in the financing and development of healthcare facilities and sales of radiation oncology treatment equipment. Earlier in his career he practiced with a large international law firm and another firm based in Tennessee, where he represented clients in the energy, automotive,healthcare, software/technology, heavy equipment, and consumer packaged good industries.  He began his legal career by serving as a law clerk to Judge R. Kenton Musgrave of the United States Court of International Trade, where he worked on cases involving customs duties and antidumping and countervailing duties imposed on imported goods to mitigate the effect of trade practices that harm manufacturers in the United States.

Outside of the office, Charles enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, and they can often be found at a volleyball match or band or orchestra concert. Their family also enjoys supporting and volunteering with a number of community and nonprofit organizations.
