Throwback Thursday – REMEMBER by Melissa Carrasco
In the August 2021 edition of the Knoxville Bar Association’s DICTA publication, Melissa Carrasco explains the Jewish holiday Tisha B’Av. It “commemorates the destruction of the First Temple and the Second Temple in Jerusalem” and now has significance as a “day of remembering Anne Frank and the 6,000,000 other victims of the Holocaust.” Melissa states that Tisha B’Av “is also a day of remembering that nothing–not even the worst circumstances–can stop a person determined to make a difference.” This year Tisha B’Av is currently being celebrated. It began yesterday on July 26 and will end upon nightfall tonight.
