Our estate planning practice group provides a broad spectrum of estate planning services focusing on the preparation and implementation of tax savings structures for the donative transfer of assets by our clients, during life and upon their death, to their desired beneficiaries. Among these services are the preparation and implementation of wills, trust structures and life management instruments such as powers of attorneys and conservatorship proceedings. While a planning emphasis is placed upon tax leveraged structures aimed at achieving a minimization of estate and gift taxation, the collateral areas of business succession planning and asset protection planning also make up a substantial portion of this practice activity.

The firm’s probate practice centers on the administration of estates and preparation of federal estate and Tennessee inheritance tax returns. Representation of clients in this area includes advising executors, administrators and beneficiaries regarding the interpretation of dispositive instruments and the rights of parties under such instruments and applicable law.
