Throwback Thursday – THE ROAD HOME by Melissa Carrasco

 

In the June 2022 edition of the Knoxville Bar Association’s DICTA publication, Melissa Carrasco recounts the chain of events that led the United States to establish Arlington National Cemetery. “Since 1862, the Quartermaster Corp has been responsible for caring for the remains of deceased service members.” Their role was instrumental in bringing soldiers home to Arlington National Cemetery. Arlington National Cemetery now has over 400,000 service members buried on its grounds, and is a place of honor, reflection, and remembrance. For the last 247 years, “the Quartermaster Corps has been making things better.”
