Rockforde (Rocky) D. King is part of a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process and providing the consumer of legal services with an objective measure by which to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.
The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified senior specialist attorneys must successfully complete includes certification as a specialist by the NBTA for a total of at least ten continuous years, submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses and proof of good standing.
Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. Board certifications are the only distinctions awarded by non-profit organizations. The NBTA as well as all board certifying organizations are committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose a good attorney.
Rockforde D. King earned his undergraduate degree in public administration and political science from The University of Tennessee. He is a graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Law. Mr. King is licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee, all Federal Courts in the State of Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been involved in numerous jury trials, bench trials, administrative trials, and court of workers’ compensation trials over the past forty years. He is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, DRI, having previously served as President of the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association. He has spoken on numerous occasions on various legal subjects, particularly in the areas of Food Manufacturing Defense Products, Employment & Workers’ Compensation matters.
Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board certified, and Mr. King is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in their specialty area and earn board certification.
